PRE-SELECTION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS

(ACADEMIC YEAR 2012-2013)

Pre-selection is in progress for foreign students applying for a position in a PhD Program for the Academic Year 2012/13.

The number of positions funded by the University will be established by the Graduate School.

Foreign students wishing to apply for admission to a PhD Program for the Academic Year 2012/13 must submit an application no later than 2 May 2012 using the online form available at the following web address:

Foreign students will be evaluated by submitting an online application by 2 May 2012. At the conclusion of the online application process, applicants must attach in electronic format a “pdf” file with a maximum size of 15 MB containing:

1. A Curriculum Vitae with details of achieved degree(s), relevant examination results and/or results of degree requirements with assessment and/or grade (i.e., transcript details), and the date of degree achievement.
2. A Research Proposal (maximum size of one (1) page on A4 paper)
3. A List of Publications

Foreign students are required to provide two recommendation forms & corresponding letters from two university professors either in Italy or abroad. The recommendation form and information about the letter can be found on the Graduate School web page.

Please transmit the scan version of the letters by email directly to the coordinator of the PhD program to which you are applying by 2 May 2012. (Please note, if you are applying to more than one program an original set of letters & forms must be sent to each of the Programs Coordinators). Please, indicate the name of the PhD Program you intend to participate with your full name when presenting the letters.

Candidates whose two letters of recommendation are not received will be excluded from selection.

Eligible candidates whose application has passed preliminary screening will be invited to take part in aSkype interview with the Coordinator (or their delegates) of the applicant’s desired program of study.Candidates will be contacted by the PhD coordinator (or their delegates) by email for fixing the Skype interview.

Candidates will also be excluded from the selection process if they fail to disclose in their Curriculum Vitae relevant examination results and/or results of degree requirements with assessment and/or grade (i.e., transcript details), and the date of degree achievement by 2 May 2012.

Candidates will also be excluded if they hold a degree which the Coordinator does not consider equivalent to an Italian degree or equivalent to the Program’s requirements.

Candidates possessing a degree(s) not achieved in Italy will have to submit to the Administration of the Doctoral School a Declaration of Relative Value (or “Dichiarazione di Valore Relativa al Titolo”) within three months of registration. The Declaration is obtainable from the Italian Embassy or Consulate in the country where the degree was completed.

Students who fail to present the Declaration of Relative Value within three months of registration will be excluded from the program.

Pre-selection applications will be evaluated by the Coordinator or by a Committee appointed by the Coordinator of the PhD Program and they will admit candidates deemed suitable.

Beasiswa Santri PBSB Kementerian Agama Tahun 2012-2013

Program Beasiswa Santri Berprestasi disingkat menjadi PBSB adalah sebuah program pemberian bantuan pembiayaan yang diperlukan bagi santri berprestasi, yang telah dinyatakan lulus dan memenuhi syarat untuk menempuh jenjang pendidikan tinggi yang telah menjalin kerjasama dengan Kementerian Agama RI.

Perguruan Tinggi mitra Kementerian Agama RI dalam PBSB adalah:

Tujuan 

Tujuan dari Seleksi Calon Peserta PBSB adalah menjaring santri yang memiliki kemampuan akademik, kematangan pribadi, kemampuan penalaran, dan potensi untuk dapat mengikuti program pendidikan tinggi. 

Sasaran Peserta Seleksi 

Sasaran peserta Seleksi Calon Peserta PBSB tahun 2012 adalah : 

1. Santri mukim pondok pesantren yang sedang duduk di kelas III MA yang diselenggarakan oleh pondok pesantren, baik yang hafidz Al‐Qur’an 10 juz ataupun tidak; 
2. Santri mukim pondok pesantren yang hafidz Al‐Qur’an minimal 10 juz dan sedang duduk di kelas III SMA/SMK yang diselenggarakan oleh pondok pesantren; 
3. Santri lulusan pondok pesantren salafiyah, baik yang hafidz Al‐Qur’an 10 juz ataupun tidak; 
4. Santri lulusan Pondok Pesantren Muadalah (Pendidikan Diniyah Menengah Atas), baik yang hafidz Al‐Qur’an 10 juz ataupun tidak;  
5. Santri lulusan Program Pendidikan Kesetaraan Paket C pada pondok pesantren, baik yang hafidz Al‐Qur’an 10 juz ataupun tidak. 

Ruang Lingkup 

Seleksi Calon Peserta PBSB adalah suatu sistem rekruitmen bagi calon peserta PBSB, dimana PBSB adalah program pemberian bantuan beasiswa dan pembinaan bagi santri yang telah dinyatakan lulus dan memenuhi syarat, pada program Pendidikan Vokasi dan Sarjana di Perguruan Tinggi yang ditunjuk melalui Surat Keputusan (SK) Dirjen Pendidikan Islam Kementerian Agama RI.  

Kementerian Agama RI akan menanggung biaya pendidikan sampai santri yang bersangkutan menyelesaikan studi atau 8 (delapan) semester untuk program sarjana (S1) dan 6 (enam) semester untuk pendidikan vokasi. Khusus prodi/jurusan/mayor Pendidikan Dokter, Kedokteran Gigi, dan Kedokteran Hewan selama 12 semester.  Adapun mengenai pendidikan profesi, studi lanjut sarjana dari pendidikan vokasi, dan penambahan masa studi akan diatur kemudian menyesuaikan dengan ketercukupan anggaran pada Kementerian Agama RI.

Pendaftaran seleksi akan dimulai pada tanggal 9 s/d 27 April 2012 di Kantor Wilayah Kementerian Agama Propinsi se-Indonesia

Pelaksanaan Seleksi

• Tes seleksi akan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 10 Mei 2012 di Kantor Wilayah Kementerian Agama Propinsi yang ditunjuk sebagai pelaksana seleksi.
• Hasil seleksi akan diumumkan pada tanggal 1 Juni 2012 di Kantor Wilayah Kementerian Agama Propinsi se-Indonesia

Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI), University of Adelaide, Australia

The University of Adelaide offers a scholarships scheme for international students undertaking postgraduate research study. Its purpose is to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the University of Adelaide to support its research effort. The selection for scholarships is extremely competitive.

A number of ASI scholarships may be available in the mid year round of scholarships for semester 2, 2012 to outstanding international students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in any academic discipline.

The ASI provides:

1. Course tuition fees for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only);
2. An annual living allowance of approximately $23,728 (2012 value) for the normal duration of the program; and
3. If the award holder holds a subclass 574 visa the award covers the cost of compulsory standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Worldcare policy for the student and their spouse and dependents (if any) for the period of the scholarship. If the award holder does not hold a subclass 574 visa then he/she is responsible for the cost of health insurance.

The scholarship does NOT cover visa application fees.

Applicants should hold at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Honours degree. This is a four year degree with a major research project in the final year. Other criteria that will be taken into consideration is undergraduate performance, bachelor and honours awards and scholarships, other postgraduate degrees, publications in internationally refereed journals, the presentation of conference papers and relevant industry experience.

Applications for these scholarships are always highly competitive.  Generally ASI recipients have completed a Masters degree including a significant research component and have several publications and relevant work and research experience.

Conditions

• ASI Scholarship will be awarded strictly on academic merit. Extra-curricular achievements will not be considered.
• Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible.
• Those undertaking research via remote candidature are ineligible.
• International applicants are not eligible for an ASI if they have already commenced the degree for which they are seeking an award, unless they can establish that they were unable to apply for an ASI in the last round of the previous calendar year.
• International applicants who have not provided evidence of their meeting English language proficiency requirements by the closing date are not eligible for an ASI.
• International applicants must not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate degree or, if undertaking a Research Masters degree, not hold a research qualification regarded by the University of Adelaide to be equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Masters degree.
• Candidates are required to enrol in the University of Adelaide as 'international students' and must maintain 'international student' status for the duration of their enrolment in the University.
• Scholarships holders must commence study at The University of Adelaide in semester 2, 2012. No ASI may be commenced after 30 November 2012.
• Scholarship winners will not be permitted to defer commencement until 2013.
• Applicants who applied in previous international major scholarship rounds are not eligible to apply again.
• The offer of an ASI scholarship is contingent upon a student not being offered another award by the Commonwealth of Australia, The University of Adelaide, or an overseas sponsor. The University reserves the right to withdraw an offer of a scholarship at any time prior to enrolment if it is advised that a awardee has been offered a scholarship equal to or in excess of the financial value of the award offered by the University

Closing Date: 1 May 2012. We strongly recommend that all applicants submit their application and all required documents well before the closing date. Incomplete applications at the scholarship application deadline will not be considered for a scholarship.

Beasiswa S2 Ilmu Lingkungan untuk S1 Semua Disiplin Ilmu

Program Studi Magister Ilmu Lingkungan (PSMIL) Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung bekerjasama dengan Biro Perencanaan dan Kerjasama Luar Negeri Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional membuka kesempatan kepada lulusan S1 dari berbagai disiplin ilmu untuk melanjutkan studi jenjang S2 konsentrasi `Manajemen Sumber Daya Alam dan Lingkungan' melalui Program Beasiswa Unggulan (BU).

Persyaratan:

Sebaiknya tetap anda mencoba mengirimkan. Ada yang diterima di PSMIL meski IP di bawah 3,4 dengan menyertakan prestasi non akademik seperti penghargaan lomba, aktivitas organisasi.
Juga, jika pelamar tidak mencapai kuota atau kompetisi pendaftar tak terlalu ketat, anda bisa memiliki peluang untuk diterima. Ada yang pada semester ganjil mendaftar tidak diterima. Tetapi, ketika pembukaan semester genap diterima PSMIL saat mau mencoba daftar lagi.

PSMIL telah melakukan kerjasama double degree dengan Tweente University, Belanda hingga sekarang.Terbaru, sedang dipersiapkan double degree dengan Jepang.

Asian Institute of Technology Scholarships for Asian Countries, Thailand

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) promotes technological change and sustainable development in the Asian-Pacific region through higher education, research and outreach. His Majesty the King’s Scholarships 

A full scholarship granted to qualified candidates with excellent undergraduate achievements from any Asian country to pursue a master’s degree in any of the disciplines offered by the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and the School of Management (SOM).  For August 2012 intake, 21 King’s Scholarships are available. .

Her Majesty the Queen’s Scholarships

A full scholarship granted to qualified candidates with excellent undergraduate achievements from any Asian country to pursue a master’s degree in environment-related fields offered by School of Environment, Development & Resources (SERD). For August 2012 intake, 9 Queen’s Scholarships are available.

Details of the Scholarships

The scholarships provide an opportunity for students of diverse backgrounds from all countries in Asia to study and do research work together in the truly international environment at AIT, to build a good foundation for international understanding among people of Asia.

Each scholarship award covers tuition and fees, accommodation, and a bursary for living expenses in AIT’s residential campus, for the entire period of the 22-month master’s degree program, with values as shown in the following table:

Jerman Negara Favorit Mahasiswa Indonesia

Jerman merupakan tujuan favorit pelajar dan mahasiswa Indonesia yang berminat belajar ke luar negeri dibandingkan dengan negara-negara lain di Eropa. Program pendidikan yang banyak dipilih adalah kedokteran dan teknik (engineering).  

"Dibandingkan dengan negara-negara lain, Jerman memang berada di urutan kelima, tapi yang teratas di antara negara Eropa," kata kepala dinas pertukaran akademis Jerman (DAAD), Irene Jansen.

Data pendidikan global UNESCO 2011 menyebutkan, Australia berada di peringkat teratas sebagai negara tujuan pendidikan luar negeri mahasiswa Indonesia dengan jumlah 10.205 orang, Amerika Serikat di urutan kedua (7.386), Malaysia di urutan ketiga (7.325), Jepang di posisi keempat (1.788), dan Jerman di urutan kelima (1.546).

Trier, Jerman

Menurut Jansen, biaya pendidikan di Jerman relatif lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan negara lain di Eropa. Ini karena sekitar 90 persen universitas di Jerman merupakan universitas milik pemerintah yang dana pendidikannya berasal dari pajak masyarakat. 

   

"Universitas swasta membebankan biaya sekitar 500 euro per semester untuk administrasi," ujarnya.

      

Jansen menuturkan, biaya hidup yang dibutuhkan untuk tinggal di Jerman antara 700-900 euro per bulan. Mahasiswa bisa menggunakan bantuan bagi mahasiswa dan potongan harga sehingga biaya hidup dapat ditekan. 

     

Menurut dia, bagi mahasiswa dengan biaya pendidikan pribadi, diperlukan jaminan keuangan senilai 8.040 euro untuk biaya hidup selama setahun pertama kuliah.

     

DAAD hanya menawarkan beasiswa bagi S-2 dan S-3. Ada 200 beasiswa dari beragam program studi. Untuk itu, calon mahasiswa harus melakukan riset terlebih dahulu untuk menentukan program studi yang akan dipilih.   

     

Untuk mendapatkan beasiswa, calon mahasiswa harus melewati beberapa tahapan. Calon harus memiliki jalur pendidikan yang sama dengan program studi yang diinginkan, nilai akademik yang tinggi, seleksi wawancara profesor, seleksi komite, proposal penelitian, kemampuan komunikasi yang baik, dan sertifikat bahasa Jerman.

       

Untuk jalur sarjana, DAAD tidak menawarkan beasiswa. Para lulusan SMU tidak serta-merta bisa mendaftar karena harus mengikuti penyetaraan pendidikan terlebih dulu dengan mengikuti sekolah persiapan Studient Kolleg selama satu tahun. Ini karena pendidikan dasar di Indonesia hanya 12 tahun, sedangkan di Jerman 13 tahun.

       

DAAD perwakilan Jakarta didirikan pada 1990. Hingga kini jumlah alumni Indonesia mencapai 27.000 orang, sedangkan yang mendapatkan beasiswa mencapai 3.000 orang.
