The International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) invites qualified students with excellent academic achievements and active in co-curricular activities to apply for the Shari'ah Scholarship Award (SA) to pursue their higher education at either local or overseas universities. The Shari'ah Scholarship Award is part of the Fund for Shari'ah Scholars in Islamic Finance, which was established to enhance knowledge, research, talents, and intellectual discourse in the field of Shari'ah. The Fund represents Bank Negara Malaysia's commitment to strengthen the development of the Islamic financial industry.

FIELD OF STUDY

1. Postgraduate (Master or Doctorate) in Shariah or Islamic finance studies at recognized institutions of higher learning; 
2. Undergraduate studies at recognized institutions of higher learning in the field of Shari'ah with a double degree or a minor in one of the following disciplines: 
   • Islamic banking; 
   • Conventional banking; 
   • Accounting; 
   • Law; 
   • Economics; 
   • Finance; 
   • Management; or
   • other related fields appropriate to the development of the Islamic financial industry. 
3. CIFP, only for those with Shariah background.

ELIGIBILITY

1. Applicant from Shariah background.
2. The scholarship is open to citizens of all countries. 
3. Applicants have to secured admission at a recognized institution of higher learning. Applicants are required to pursue either a Bachelor, CIFP , Master or Doctorate programme, as defined above, in a fulltime programme. 
4. For a postgraduate application, applicants are required to have a CGPA of at least 3.5 or its equivalent. 
5. For an undergraduate application, applicants are required to have a CGPA of at least 3.3 or its equivalent (for the first semester result). 
6. Current students enrolled in the programmes specified above may also apply for the scholarship. 
7. Applicants should not be in receipt of any other scholarship award.

An application for a scholarship must be submitted by hand or through registered post or courier service with the following documents, which must be in English:

2. Photocopy of personal identification document (passport/identity card); 
3. Offer Letter from the institution of higher learning; 
4. Certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts; 
5. An essay of not more than 100 words on ‘why the applicant should be awarded the scholarship and how he/she plans to contribute to the Islamic financial services industry’; 
6. Two (2) letters of recommendation (only for a postgraduate scholarship application). Please use provided template.
7. Thesis proposal (only for Master and PhD application by research or coursework & research); and 
8. Other relevant materials to support the application.

Only shortlisted applicants will be notify for interview session.

Beasiswa S1 BII - Maybank

Beasiswa Sobat Bumi Pertamina Foundation Tahun 2013

Beasiswa Sobat Bumi merupakan program yang digagas dan dijalankan Pertamina Foundation ini merupakan kelanjutan dari program beasiswa yang diberikan oleh Yayasan Kesejahteraan Pegawai Pertamina (YKPP) .

Beasiswa Sobat Bumi dimaksudkan untuk melahirkan calon yang berwawasan lingkungan dan memiliki kemampuan berwirausaha. Para calon pemimpin masa depan itu juga diharapkan mampu menerapkan dan mengajak orang lain untuk menerapkan serta menciptakan budaya ramah lingkungan. 

Dengan pengetahuan tentang konsep green life (Sobat Bumi) secara komprehensif, para penerima Beasiswa

Sobat Bumi diharapkan dapat mendukung terwujudnya kehidupan dan budaya ramah lingkungan di kalangan mahasiswa. Mereka juga diharapkan mampu menjadi agen perubahan dalam bidang lingkungan yang memberikan kontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan kualitas kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia.

 

Pertamina Foundation kembali membuka kesempatan bagi mahasiswa untuk mendapatkan Beasiswa Sobat Bumi. Peluang beasiswa ini diberikan kepada 200 mahasiswa berprestasi di 20 Perguruan Tinggi Negeri.  
Menurut Direktur Eksekutif Pertamina Foundation Nina Nurlina Pramono, di Jakarta (20/6), Beasiswa Sobat Bumi ini tidak hanya menitikberatkan pada prestasi akademik saja, namun juga harus memiliki wawasan dan berbudaya lingkungan.
“Tujuannya agar memberikan kesempatan lahirnya calon-calon pemimpin bangsa yang mampu menerapkan dan mengajak orang lain untuk berbudaya lingkungan,” tegas Nina.
Untuk itulah, selain persyaratan umum seperti nilai akademis, menjalani serangkaian seleksi, mendapatkan rekomendasi dari Perguruan Tinggi dimana mahasiswa mengambil studi, mereka juga harus menunjukkan kemampuannya menjadi pemimpin.

Selain itu, sambungnya, mahasiswa juga dituntut memiliki  jiwa wirausaha, akademisi dan aktivis lingkungan. “Inilah yang menjadi ciri khas Beasiswa Sobat Bumi,” Nina menandaskan.
Sementara itu, Direktur Pendidikan Pertamina Foundation Ahmad Rizali mengatakan,  untuk persyaratan akademis nilai IPK minimal 3,01. Disamping itu, kriteria lain adalah calon penerima beasiswa memiliki jiwa filantropis, serta komitmen untuk mewujudkan sinergi antara kelestarian alam dan kemajuan bangsa.

Dikatakan, pembukaan pendaftaran dilakukan melalui online di portal www.sobatbumi.com dan www.beasiswa-sobatbumi.com, mulai tanggal 19 Juni dan berakhir tanggal 19 Juli 2013. Adapun pengumuman penerimaan akan dilakukan pada  September 2013, setelah sebelumnya peserta harus lulus dalam setiap tahapan seleksinya.

Ahmad melanjutkan, program ini selain memberikan manfaat berupa biaya pendidikan setiap semester dan biaya hidup setiap bulan, penerima beasiswa juga didorong untuk membuat project kelompok melalui Pertamina Foundation Scholars.

Bagi mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang akan menyusun skripsi diberikan peluang mendapatkan dukungan dana maksimal Rp 10 juta, dengan syarat memenuhi topik yang disetujui Pertamina Foundation. Untuk meningkatkan kapasitas, mereka mendapatkan pelatihan kepemimpinan, sarana berkumpul semua penerima beasiswa yang pada periode 2012/2013 mencapai 329 mahasiswa. “Mereka juga akan diberikan kesempatan menjadi sukarelawan di Pertamina Foundation,” tegas Ahmad.

Beasiswa S1,S2 STAR Badan Pengawasan Keuangan dan Pembangunan (BPKP)

Dalam rangka peningkatan kompetensi Sumber Daya Manusia, Badan Pengawasan Keuangan dan Pembangunan (BPKP) Selaku Executing Agency (EA) akan mengadakan program beasiswa. BPKP kembali menawarkan beasiswa STAR Project bagi Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) untuk menempuh pendidikan S1 dan S2 . Pendaftaran bisa dilakukan dengan mengajukan langsung ke Badan Kepegawaian Daerah (BKD) masing-masing kabupaten / kota.

PROFIL

Sejalan dengan upaya reformasi di bidang pengawasan dan audit sektor publik, Asian Development Bank State Accountability Revitalization (STAR).

(ADB) memberikan bantuan kepada pemerintah untuk melakukan reformasi terhadap sistem audit sektor publik (pemerintahan). Bantuan dari ADB tersebut kemudian ditetapkan dalam wujud projek

STAR merupakan kegiatan yang diinisiasi Pemerintah Republik Indonesia dalam mendukung reformasi di bidang manajemen keuangan dan audit sektor publik, yang pendanaannya berasal dari pinjaman (loan) Asian Development Bank (ADB).

STAR mengemban tugas yang sangat berat, khususnya untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas fungsi pengelolaan keuangan dan pengawasan sektor publik, melalui penguatan lembaga atau institusi pemerintah yang bertugas menjalankan pengelolaan keuangan dan pengawasan sektor publik.

Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut, dalam upaya untuk meningkatkan kompetensi staf pengelola keuangan dan internal auditor pemerintahan, BPKP melalui koordinasi dengan ADB menyempurnakan penyelenggaraan program studi baru yang khusus berbasis pada disiplin ilmu Akuntansi dan pengawasan Pemerintahan di sektor publik.

Secara umum tujuan dari program beasiswa ini adalah untuk mengembangkan kompetensi SDM pengelola keuangan dan aparatur pengawasan pemerintahan.

Penerima program beasiswa adalah :

a. Staf pengelola keuangan dan internal auditor pemerintah daerah dan Kementerian/Lembaga (K/L)

b. Perguruan Tinggi Negeri yang menyelenggarakan program Kekhususan S1 dan S2 Akuntansi Pemerintahan/Pengawasan Keuangan Negara.

Hasil yang diharapkan dari pemberian Bantuan beasiswa program Kekhususan ini adalahMeningkatkan kapasitas dan kemampuan staf pengelola keuangan dan internal auditor pemerintahan di bidang akuntasi pemerintahan;

Program beasiswa ini didanai dari pinjaman No. 2927-INO dari Asian Development Bank. Dana akan didistribusikan Perguruan Tinggi penyelenggaran program beasiswa STAR, mencakup biaya pendidikan dan biaya hidup bagi mahasiswa, melalui DIPA BPKP tahun anggaran 2013 - 2017.

Australia Perth Scholarships for International Students, Australia

The Society for Underwater Technology (SUT), through its Educational Support Fund, will offer annual scholarship awards to either undergraduate and postgraduate students undertaking studies that embrace relevant component areas of marine science, underwater technology or offshore engineering. Applicants are welcome to apply where they can demonstrate a clear interest in pursuing a career in a relevant area of underwater technology.

In 2013, the SUT Educational Support Fund will consider awarding up to six scholarships for fulltime students entering the last two years of their undergraduate course, or undertaking a postgraduate course.

The undergraduate scholarship awards may continue throughout the remaining part of the degree course, subject to a satisfactory academic standard being maintained. This performance will be reviewed annually. (Note: re-application via the web site is necessary to be considered for continuance of the scholarship.)

The grants are open to any student studying in Australia, irrespective of age or nationality.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

Postgraduate candidates should have a first degree in a relevant engineering or science subject, and have enrolled in a postgraduate course of study related to offshore engineering, marine science or underwater technology

Undergraduate candidates should have permission to proceed to their third or final year of their degree course.

Scholarship applicants must be enrolled in full time education. Applicants who are employed full time are not eligible for the scholarship, however, part-time employment is acceptable.

Applicants are required to be enrolled at university full-time for at least the first semester of 2014.

WHEN TO APPLY

Students wishing to be considered for an SUT sponsorship award should complete and return the application form, academic transcripts and academic reference by Thursday 1st August 2013. Late applications including late copies of academic transcripts & academic references will not be entertained, they must be received by 1st August 2013.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Selection will be on the basis of the information provided in the application form, the academic referees, and an interview of the short-listed candidates. It is important to ensure that all sections of the application are fully completed. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of the assessment before end October 2013.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

The Society’s Educational Support Fund will award sponsorship of $5000 per annum for a full academic year. (50% paid end of February 2014 and remaining 50% paid June 2014)

In addition to the financial sponsorship, SUT will aim to provide free attendance to relevant SUT professional development courses for successful candidates.

SUT Scholars may apply for other sources of funding, and still be eligible for an SUT Sponsorship

Beasiswa S1,S2, dan S3 Kementerian Kesehatan

Kementerian Kesehatan (Kemenkes) membuka kesempatan tugas belajar dalam negeri untuk program S-1, S-2, dan S-3 bagi pegawai negeri sipil (PNS) SDM Kesehatan tahun 2013.

Dalam surat edaran yang ditandatangani Kepala Badan PPSDM Kesehatan, dr Untung Suseno Sutarjo tanggal 28 Mei itu disebutkan, program studi yang diikuti pada Pendidikan Tinggi Negeri (PTN) yang terakreditasi minimal “B”, dan apabila Program Studi dan Peminatan yang dibutuhkan tidak terdapat di PTN, maka calon peserta dapat mengikuti seleksi  akademik di Perguruan Tinggi Swasta (PTS) yang terakreditasi minimal “B” dari  lembaga yang berwenang.

Dalam SE itu disebutkan, bagi PNS yang menduduki jabatan struktural diberhentikan dari jabatannya, dan bagi PNS yang menduduki jabatan fungsional akan dibebaskan sementara dari jabatannya. Selain itu, PNS calon peserta tidak sedang menjalani hukuman disiplin tingkat sedang atau berat, dan tidak sedang melaksanakan pendidikan dan pelatihan penjenjangan.

Adapun jangka waktu pelaksanaan pendidikan adalah:

a. Program Strata I (S-1) paling lama 4 (empat) tahun; 

b. Program Strata II (S-2) paling lama 2 (dua) tahun; 

c. Program Strata III (S-3) paling lama 4 (empat) tahun;

Sedang Komponen bantuan beasiswa pendidikan bagi peserta tugas belajar SDM meliputi:

a. Bantuan Biaya Hidup dan Operasional; 

b. Uang Buku dan Referensi; 

c. Biaya Untuk Pendidikan terdiri dari SPP, Matrikulasi dan Praktek (dibuktikan dengan SK Rektor);

d. Biaya Riset secara at cost dengan melampirkan TOR/Proposal yang sudah  disahkan oleh Dosen pembimbing, RAB dan Surat Pernyataan Tanggung Jawab  Mutlak (SPTJM);

e. Transport keberangkatan dan kepulangan secara at cost dan uang harian.

Jenis pendanaan yang ditanggung oleh Kementerian Kesehatan selama tugas belajar meliputi:

a. Biaya penuh, diberikan selama peserta tubel mengikuti proses pendidikan sejak  semester awal hingga akhir, sesuai dengan batas masa studi maksimal;

b. Biaya parsial, diberikan kepada mereka yang sedang mengikuti proses  pendidikan (maksimal semester III bulan September 2013) dan belum  memperoleh dana. Dana tubel yang diberikan adalah dana lanjutan selama  peserta tugas belajar masih dalam proses belajar mengajar yang dibuktikan  dengan surat keterangan dari Institusi Pendidikan, dan bagi peserta yang  diusulkan maka semua ketentuan tetap mengacu dalam Surat Edaran ini. 

“Peserta yang mengikuti pendidikan tahun 2013 sudah dalam penyusunan  skripsi/thesis tidak diberikan bantuan beasiswa,” bunyi Surat Edaran itu.

Persyaratan

Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) yang akan mengikuti tugas belajar SDM Kesehatan harus memenuhi persyaratan sebagai berikut :

1. Program Studi/Peminatan yang diambil, sesuai dengan lampiran 1;

2. Untuk Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi/Kabupaten/Kota, Program Studi/Peminatan yang  diambil dapat menyesuaikan dengan peminatan sesuai kebutuhan Unit Pusat;

3. Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) Pusat dan Daerah;

4. Mendapatkan ijin tertulis/surat tugas dari atasan langsung untuk mengikuti seleksi  administrasi dan seleksi akademik;

5. Masa kerja paling kurang 1 (satu) tahun terhitung sejak diangkat sebagai PNS;

6. Program studi/peminatan yang akan ditempuh harus mempunyai hubungan atau  sesuai dengan kebutuhan organisasi;

7. Usia maksimal dihitung pada saat seleksi administrasi di Pusat :

a. Program Strata I (S-1) atau setara berusia paling tinggi 25 (dua puluh lima)  tahun;

b. Program Strata II (S-2) atau setara berusia paling tinggi 37 (tiga puluh tujuh)  tahun;

c. Program Strata III (S-3) atau setara berusia paling tinggi 40 (empat puluh) tahun;

8. Untuk daerah terpencil, tertinggal, dan terluar atau jabatan sangat diperlukan (Dosen, Peneliti dan Widyaiswara), usia maksimal dihitung pada saat seleksi  administrasi di Pusat :

a. Program Strata I (S-1) atau setara berusia paling tinggi 37 (tiga puluh tujuh)  tahun;

b. Program Strata II (S-2) atau setara berusia paling tinggi 42 (empat puluh dua  tahun) tahun;

c. Program Strata III (S-3) atau setara berusia paling tinggi 47(empat puluh tujuh)  tahun;

9. Program studi yang diikuti pada Pendidikan Tinggi Negeri (PTN) yang  terakreditasi minimal “B”, dan apabila Program Studi dan Peminatan yang  dibutuhkan tidak terdapat di PTN, maka calon peserta dapat mengikuti seleksi  akademik di Perguruan Tinggi Swasta (PTS) yang terakreditasi minimal “B” dari  lembaga yang berwenang;

10. Bagi PNS yang menduduki jabatan struktural diberhentikan dari jabatannya;

11. Bagi PNS yang menduduki jabatan fungsional dibebaskan sementara dari  jabatannya;

12. Setiap unsur penilaian pelaksanaan pekerjaan dalam 1 (satu) tahun terakhir paling  kurang bernilai baik;

13. Tidak sedang menjalani hukuman disiplin tingkat sedang atau berat;

14. Tidak sedang melaksanakan pendidikan dan pelatihan penjenjangan;

15. Jangka waktu pelaksanaan pendidikan :

a. Program Strata I (S-1) paling lama 4 (empat) tahun; 

b. Program Strata II (S-2) paling lama 2 (dua) tahun; 

c. Program Strata III (S-3) paling lama 4 (empat) tahun;

16. Jangka waktu pelaksanaan tugas belajar sebagaimana dimaksud pada angka 15,  masing-masing dapat diperpanjang paling lama 1 tahun (2 semester) atas persetujuan sponsor dan/atau instansi. 

17. Bagi PNS yang belum dapat menyelesaikan tugas belajar setelah diberikan  perpanjangan waktu 1 tahun sebagaimana dimaksud pada angka 16, dapat  diberikan perpanjangan kembali paling lama 1 (satu) tahun, dengan perubahan  status menjadi izin belajar dan tetap dapat meninggalkan tugasnya sebagaimana  berlaku bagi tugas belajar.

18. Jangka waktu pemberian bantuan beasiswa adalah selama jangka waktu  pelaksanaan pendidikan sebagaimana dimaksud pada angka 15.

19. Bagi calon peserta telah mengabdikan diri minimal 3 (tiga) tahun, khusus dosen  minimal 1 (satu) tahun setelah lulus pendidikan terakhir;

University of Ulster Scholarships for International Students, UK

A total of 5 Santander Scholarships are available to students from all countries except from Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. The Scholarships are for Postgraduate Master's or Undergraduate study in any subject offered by the University for the 2013-14 academic year. These scholarships are only available to students who are coming to Northern Ireland to study.

1 x £5000 Scholarship for a student from one of our Chinese partner institutions to come and study at Ulster.

a.  A full-time taught Postgraduate taught Master's course or
b.  A full time Undergraduate course or
c.  The Pre-sessional EAP Plus or Standard course leading to one of the above awards

Denys Holland Scholarship for International Students at UCL, UK

Professor Denys Holland, in whose memory the Denys Holland Fund was created via donations from his students, was a sociable, compassionate man. A Professor of Law and Dean of Students, one of his principle concerns was the welfare and fulfillment of students under his care. His admissions policy for the Faculty of Law aimed at a broad range of students who would enter fully into college life.

The Denys Holland Scholarship aims to support undergraduate students from any country, who without the support of  the scholarship would be unable to secure the funding required to study at UCL, and who can demonstrate their intention to make full use of the activities offered by UCL and the Student Union.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should be:

• holding an offer of admission to UCL for full-time undergraduate study in any department;
• in financial hardship, and be able to demonstrate that without the scholarship they would be unable to study at UCL;
• preferably aged 25 or below at the time of commencing their studies;
• able to demonstrate that they have broad interests and intend to be actively involved in and contribute to the life of the university.

Selection Criteria

The scholarship is awarded on the basis of financial hardship, subject to applicants demonstrating their intention to play a full part in extra-curricular activities of UCL and the Students Union.

Value: Benefits and Duration

The scholarship is worth £9,000 per annum and scholars may choose to use all or part of the scholarship to cover fees. Any remainder is paid to the scholar as a maintenance stipend.

Scholarships are for one year in the first instance, but will be renewed subject to satisfactory progress, for up to a total of three years.

The Scholarship may be held alongside other grants, bursaries, awards or scholarships, provided annual total funding does not exceed the cost of fees plus a reasonable sum for maintenance in any one year (as determined by UCL).

University of Miami International Freshman President’s Scholarships, USA

Academic Scholarships for Freshmen Entering Academic Year Fall 2014

University of Miami international freshman President's Scholarships range from $5,000 to $30,000 annually. Students are automatically considered for the President’s Scholarships when they apply for admission to the University.

Eligibility and Award Decisions

Academic scholarships are limited in number and awarding is highly competitive. The University of Miami takes into account students' high school grades, difficulty of course curriculum, extracurricular activities, essay, and guidance counselor recommendation(s), as well as the overall quality of the pool of applicants applying to the university each year when making scholarship award decisions. International applicants should NOT submit SAT scores to be considered for a University of Miami President’s scholarship. A student may receive only one academic scholarship from the Office of International Admission. 

The Scholarship Committee will make the final determination on all scholarship awards. 

To be considered for academic scholarships, international candidates must submit a complete application for admission with all academic credentials, including a bank letter by the deadline listed below. The bank letter must indicate the applicant will be able to cover the difference between the scholarship award and the total cost of attendance (approximately US $59,500). Beasiswa S1 Stenden University Bali, Indonesia

Stenden University Bali offers scholarships for Indonesian students with outstanding study results and a strong interest in hospitality management.

The scholarships are offered for September 2013 intake, with provisions of: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% (full) discount of tuition fees depending on the candidate’s academic achievement, motivation and extra-curricular activities. The above mentioned tuition fees include studying and accommodation for one year in the Netherlands as well as return flight ticket equating up to USD 35,000 in saving over four years. 

Criteria

• Must be an Indonesian citizen.
• Must be in year 12 or graduated from high school no later than 2010.
• Must have outstanding study results from high school (above average).   
• Must be highly motivated to study International Hospitality Management at Stenden University Bali.    

How to apply

• A completed and signed Application Form.
• Candidates who are in their year 12 must submit high school transcripts of year 10, 11 and semester 1 of year 12. The transcripts must showcase study results which are above high school average.
• Candidates who already graduated from high school must submit complete transcripts of year 10, 11 and 12 and a copy of certified final transcript (UAN or other equivalent final year transcript depending on the school’s curriculum) as well as a copy of certified high school diploma. The transcripts must showcase study results which are above high school average.
• IELTS (minimum overall score 6, with no sub scores under 5) or TOEFL (minimum 550 paper based or 79 internet based). Candidates who studied for a minimum of 2 years at a high school where English was the language of instruction are not required to submit IELTS or TOEFL test score.
• Motivation letter which explains why the candidate should earn a scholarship. The motivation letter can be up to 1500 words and will serve as a true representation of the candidate’s motivation, but also of the candidate’s best writing by taking into account level of English, content of the letter, writing style, structure of the letter and argumentation.
• One recommendation letter of a teacher or school principal demonstrating candidate’s academic competence as well as good character and motivation.
• One recommendation letter from a non-academic reference, e.g. company, organization, etc.
• Academic awards, certificates of extra courses or other proofs of achievements.
• Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English, containing information about study, work and other (relevant) activities.
• One passport sized (4x6) coloured photo.
• Copy of KTP or passport.

Eira Francis Davies Scholarship for Developing Countries, UK

Female students ordinarily resident in a developing country as listed* who are admitted to pursue an undergraduate or a Taught Master’s postgraduate courses within the College of Human and Health Sciences at Swansea University shall be eligible to apply for the Eira Francis Davies Scholarship.

The Eira Francis Davies Scholarship, which shall be awarded from time to time by the Senate on the basis of academic merit and/or financial need and which shall contribute to tuition fees, shall be tenable for such period as determined by the Senate and shall be subject to satisfactory academic progress and to such other terms and conditions as the University shall stipulate.

It is a condition of the award of the Eira Francis Davies Scholarship that the student agrees to return to her country for work or study upon completion of degree studies at Swansea University.

Eligibility:

• Candidates must be new, full-time, degree seeking, non-EU applicants
• Candidates must have completed an application to study and accepted the offer of a place at Swansea University within the College of Human and Health Sciences
• Candidates must show strong academic ability and financial need

Terms and Conditions

6. Applicants must be enrolling on an eligible course at Swansea University for the first time in September 2013.
7. Applicants must have completed an application for a place to study at Swansea University, and have received and accepted an offer of a place.
8. Applicants should be privately funded.This award cannot be taken in conjunction with any other scholarship or bursary awarded either internally or externally.
9. Applicants are not eligible to hold other Swansea University awards such as bursaries, or home country sponsorship.
10. Awards are available for full-time study only.
11. The closing date for the receipt of completed scholarship applications is 5^th July 2013.
12. Successful applicants will be informed by 1^st September 2013 and a reduced tuition fee will be levied at enrolment.
13. Awards are non-transferable.
14. The International Scholarship Committee may use whatever means of assessment it thinks most appropriate in order to determine which candidates are worthy of recommendation for the award of a scholarship.
15. Having accepted an award, a scholarship holder may not withdraw from the course save in exceptional circumstances and subject to the approval of the relevant Headof College. Failure to observe this regulation may render the student liable to repay to the University any award which has been made either in whole or in part as determined by the International Scholarship Committee. If it is deemed necessary for a Scholarship holder to suspend their studies, the scholarship will be held on university account and carried forward to the year of resumption of studies and the candidate will be expected to pay their personal contribution on a pro-rata basis. If in the view of the appropriate Head of College, a Scholarship holder’s progress is deemed to be unsatisfactory, the Scholarship may be withdrawn. A Scholarship may also be withdrawn on grounds of failure to comply with any of the conditions attached to the Award. The candidate may be required to repay to the University any award which has been made, either in whole or in part, as determined by the Committee. If the scholar feels that such a withdrawal is unjustified s/he may appeal in writing to the Head of the International Development Office within 15 working days of the date of notification.
16. The International Development Office reserves the right to make, amend, withdraw, suspend or cancel without notice these and such other Regulations as may be in force from time to time and such decisions shall be final. We believe the terms of the Scholarship complies with current legislation and reserve the right to make amendments to it to ensure that it does.
17. Scholarship holders, having accepted an award, are reasonably expected to co-operate in Swansea University recruitment activities and automatically agree to their names and details being released by the University’s International Development Office and Marketing Department for marketing purposes.
