Pertimbangan Studi ke Luar Negeri

Tingginya minat para pelajar untuk studi ke luar negeri membuat perguruan-perguruan tinggi menawarkan berbagai program di banyak negara. Ide untuk studi ke luar negeri mungkin menggiurkan, tetapi akan menjadi berat saat mengetahui apa yang harus dipersiapkan sebelum mengambil keputusan.

Sebelum memutuskan cobalah untuk mengurai berbagai pertimbangan dalam tiga area yaitu akademik, kondisi keuangan, dan personal Anda sendiri. Dengan mengetahui lebih detil alasan yang mendasari ketiga aspek ini, Anda akan mendapatkan informasi yang lebih baik ketika mengambil keputusan. 

Akademik

Alasan utama Anda menempuh pendidikan tinggi adalah agar mendapatkan gelar kesarjanaan. Bagaimana belajar di luar negeri akan memengaruhi tujuan Anda itu? Bagi beberapa pelajar, studi ke luar negeri akan mewujudkan mimpinya. Tetapi, bagi yang lain, bisa saja memberikan tantangan. Pada intinya, pilihan studi ini harus memuluskan jalan meraih gelar akademik yang menjadi tujuan Anda. 

Keuangan

Setiap institusi pendidikan menetapkan biaya studi luar negerinya dengan berbagai cara yang berbeda. Kebijakan ini kadang bertujuan untuk melindungi Anda dan institusi Anda. Apakah Anda akan membiayai biaya studi sendiri? Apakah dibutuhkan banyak biaya untuk studi Anda itu?

Perlu pula dipertimbangkan bahwa Anda perlu mengatur bagaimana mengatur keuangan. Jika studi di luar negeri, Anda mungkin akan kehilangan pekerjaan atau tidak diizinkan untuk "menyambi" bekerja di negara tempat Anda menempuh pendidikan. 

Personal

Studi di luar negeri, selain memberikan pengalaman dalam kultur akademik, juga akan memberikan pengalaman secara personal. Apakah Anda orang yang sudka tantangan? Apakah Anda akan sukses jika tinggal jauh dari teman-teman dan keluarga? Apakah Anda memiliki persoalan kesehatan yang akan menjadi faktor penghalang? Nyamankah Anda menjadi orang asing di negara lain? Cobalah jujur dengan diri Anda sendiri. Jawaban-jawabannya akan menentukan kesiapan Anda. 

Tidak ada hal yang salah dengan memilih studi ke luar negeri. Yang terpenting, Anda memiliki persiapan secara mental, finansial, dan tahu apa tujuan Anda menempuh studi ke suatu negara. Agar keputusan yang diambil tepat dan tidak menjadi sia-sia tanpa hasil. Selamat mencoba!

Fulbright Doctoral Dissertation Research Program

This research grant is intended to provide U.S. research opportunities for Indonesian university doctoral candidates who are in the final stages of writing their dissertation. The grant duration is for a period of 3-6 months. The applicant should have a minimum ITP TOEFL score of  575 or IBT Score of 90 or IELTS 6.5 to participate in this program. Please note that TOEFL prediction or TOEFL-like score cannot be accepted.

HOW TO APPLY

Candidates should complete the appropriate application forms which can be downloaded below. Please return to AMINEF your complete application package by the application deadline that includes:

• Completed application form. This includes a clearly written and concise one page study objective and three to five pages research proposal.
• Copy of your most recent, less than two year old, ITP/IBT TOEFL or IELTS score report.
• One letter of reference, either from your current employer or previous lecturer.
• Copy of academic transcript (English translation).
• Copy of identity document (KTP or passport).

Hungarian Scholarships for International Students 2012

Hungary through the Balassi Institute, the Hungarian Scholarship Board (HSB) Office offers scholarships for foreign students and lecturers in higher education institutions as well as research fellows who intend to gain further professional experience in Hungarian higher education institutions or research institutes. The HSB Office announces university and research scholarships for an academic year and summer school scholarships. Scholarships can be applied for in two different ways:  Work plans and bilateral agreements & Scholarship Pool. The following scholarships are available in the academic year 2012-2013:

A - semester/partial studies (3-10 months)

Available for: undergraduate (BA/BSc) and graduate (MA/MSc) students (enrolled at foreign higher education institutions), especially those majoring in Hungarian Language and Literature and students participating in a single degree track university programme (such as General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmaceutical Studies, Veterinary Studies, Architecture, Studies in Law, etc.). Before application, students are required to have completed minimum two semesters at their home institutions. For ‘Type A’ scholarship students may apply only on one occasion during their Bachelor’s studies, and once during their Master’s studies.

B - postgraduate studies, research (3-21 days or 1-10 months)

Available for: applicants holding a Master’s degree or an equivalent university degree, including PhD students who intend to do research for their dissertation and wish to stay in Hungary for less than 10 months. (However, PhD students cannot earn credits during the scholarship period at the host university.)

C/1 - full PhD programme (36 months)

Only students proficient in Hungarian can apply. The scholarship is conditional upon successful entrance exam / admission to the respective doctoral school.

C/2 - partial PhD studies (10 months)

Applicants must be enrolled in a PhD programme at an accredited higher education institution in their home country or in a foreign country (but not in Hungary).

D - postdoctoral studies, research (1-10 months)

Applicants must hold a PhD or an equivalent degree.

E - research stay (3-21 days or 1-10 months)

Available for associate professors or high-ranking academics as well as researchers holding minimum a PhD or an equivalent degree.

F - summer courses in the summer of 2012 (2-4 weeks)

Only courses published in the list of ‘Summer Courses 2012’ on the HSB website can be selected. You may select three different courses but your scholarship will allow you to participate only in one course.

Master 2 Scholarship for Foreign Students at the University of Rennes 2012/13, France

The Foundation Rennes 1 which purposes are to support excellence research and an international opening, is starting a call for  application  for foreign  students likely to spend a year studying in the University of Rennes 1 for a Master 2 research. Astra1st Scholarships, PT Astra International Tbk, Indonesia

Since early 2000, Astra has been concerned with the education sector in Indonesia, and as many as 107.071 scholarship program has been issued by Astra.

Beasiswa Program S2 Chief Information Officer (CIO) Tahun Akademik 2012/2013

Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika RI kembali bekerja sama dengan Magister Teknologi Informasi UGM untuk menyelenggarakan Beasiswa Program S2  Chief Information Officer (CIO) Tahun Akademik 2012/2013. Beasiswa ini diberikan kepada Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) /Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil (CPNS) yang ditempatkan di lembaga-lembaga departemen, non departemen, baik di lingkungan pemerintahan pusat maupun daerah. Beasiswa hanya mencakup biaya program pendidikan, tidak mencakup biaya hidup, biaya transportasi dari/ke lokasi asal peserta, biaya pendaftaran, dan biaya wisuda. Jika peserta tidak dapat menyelesaikan studi dalam batas waktu yang telah ditentukan, biaya tambahan masa studi ditanggung peserta.

Kriteria 

1. Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS)/ Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil (CPNS)  yang ditempatkan di lembaga-lembaga departemen, non departemen, baik di lingkungan pemerintahan pusat maupun daerah.
2. Diutamakan bagi mereka yang menangani bidang kerja terkait pengembangan e-Government
3. Usia maksimum 40 tahun pada saat mendaftar.
4. Belum memiliki gelar S2 & tidak sedang mengikuti program pendidikan S2 di tempat lain.
5. Tidak menerima dan/atau sedang menerima beasiswa dari lembaga lain.

1. Ijazah & transkrip akademik S1 yang telah dilegalisir
2. IPK S1 minimal 2,75.
3. Skor minimal TPA Bappenas 500 & TOEFL ITP 450 (Jika sudah ada dapat dilampirkan).

Fulbright Agricultural M.S & Ph.D. Scholarships (with funding from USAID)

These scholarships funded by USAID are available for Master and Doctorate candidates in eligible fields of study (Plant Genetics and Breeding; Plant Physiology; Soil Science; Plant Pathology; Entomology; Apiculture; Tissue Culture and Plant Propagation; Agricultural Biotechnology; Agroecology/Farming Systems Research; and Agricultural Engineering). Preference will be given to applicants who serve or plan to serve as faculty members of state and private institutions of higher education in Indonesia and have not previously received any Fulbright scholarship. However, anyone who meet the program’s requirements are also welcomed to apply.

Eligibility

1. M.S. Applicants must possess:

• a Bachelor (S1) degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.00 scale)
• leadership qualities
• a good understanding of Indonesian and international cultures
• a willingness to return to Indonesia upon completion of the program

2. Ph.D Applicants must possess:  

• a Master's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.00 (4.00 scale)
• a determination to take up academic positions in higher education upon their return
