Cardiff School of English, Communication and Philosophy Research Bursaries, UK

The Cardiff School of English, Communication and Philosophy is offering bursaries amounting to £20,000 to assist well-qualified students who wish to join a School with a research environment classified as ‘world-leading’ by the Research Assessment Exercise 2008.
All new applicants are automatically eligible provided they fulfil the criteria below.

Funding

We are offering a number of research bursaries (equivalent to one year’s Home/EU fees) to students commencing their PhD studies in 2013/14.

To be eligible for these awards you must:
  • be applying for a place on a full-time or part-time PhD programme at the Cardiff School of English, Communication and Philosophy;
  • have submitted your application by Friday 26th April 2013;
  • anticipate beginning your studies during the 2013/14 academic year; deferral is not possible;
  • not be in receipt of a funding award from another source;
All eligible applicants will be considered for the awards, provided they have applied for a place as a PhD student in the School by 26th April 2013. The awards will be decided on the basis of academic merit, taking into account past academic performance and future research potential. Successful candidates will be notified of their award in May 2013.

How to Apply

In order to be considered for one of these awards you will need to have submitted your application for a PhD place by Friday 26th April 2013. All eligible applicants will be considered for the awards, provided they have applied for a place as a MPhil/PhD student in the School by dates indicated above .
Applicants must apply for a full-time or part-time PhD programme at the Cardiff School of English, Communication and Philosophy by 26th April 2013. The online application service can be accessed at the Apply Section of our postgraduate website.
Note: For students registered in the Centre for Language and Communication Research (CLCR) the bursary or scholarship will be offered once the MA/Diploma in Language and Communication Research (or equivalent) has been successfully completed.
